GBFN YOUTH CLASSIC 2009 RESULTS! - CASTING KIDS CHAMPIONSHIP

WEST POINT LAKE March 7th 2009

Highland Marina and ResortThe 2009 State YOUTH CLASSIC was a rousing success! The youth and all participants had a TOTAL BLAST! The officers and directors of the GBFN would like to thank all of the members that donated their time, expertise and resources to making this one of the best attended and largest youth events in our history.

The State Champion in the 11-14 age group was Jonathan Fleckenstein with 2 fish: Total wt. 9lbs. 11 ozs. and Big fish - 7lbs. 11ozs. - of the Tournament.

The State Champion in the 15-18 age group was Nick Jeter with 4 fish: Total weight 11lbs. 11ozs. Nick also had Big Fish in his age group, 6lbs. 13ozs.

Tournament Statistics:

Total contestants: 17 Total Weight:60.87lbs. Total Fish: 32 (all released alive)

CASTING KIDS CHAMPIONS

State Classic Lake Oconee 2008

Congratulations to Robert Richardson! Robert is the GBFN 2008 State Champion!

Robert took top honors at the 2008 State Classic on Lake Oconee with a 2-day winning weight of 26.55lbs. Anchoring his catch was a 5.70lb largemouth, which was also Big Bass of the tournament. This is Robert's second 1st Place Finish in a GBFN Classic!

Finishing in 2^nd Place was Mike Morris, 3^rd Brent Tullis, 4^th Brendan Smith, 5^th Tony Beck, 6^th Chris Neely, 7^th Carl Logan, 8^th Andy Koundourakis, 9^th Alan Schultz, 10th Tim Adams, 11^th Patrick Brown, 12th Alan Franks.

The fishing was slow with the cold front and wind caused some problems on Saturday. The 78 competitors weighed in a total of 418.37 lbs.
